Construction has commenced on a new flagship development which will transform land at the historic Headley Court in the Surrey village of Headley into a sustainable new community. Elivia Homes Central has broken ground on the site which will consist of 70 new homes.
Situated in a semi-rural location within the sought-after village, the design-led development will comprise 62 high-quality two, three, and four-bedroom private properties alongside eight affordable homes.
The site has a rich history. Up until 2018, it was used in part as a rehabilitation centre for injured members of the British Armed Forces, before being sold by the MoD.
The site was unlocked for development earlier this year following a successful collaboration between Elivia Homes, the landowner and agents Knight Frank. The design of the development takes inspiration from surrounding architecture, ensuring it integrates with the existing village community and brings significant value.
The modern, energy efficient and low carbon properties will be equipped with air source heat pumps, high levels of insulation and EV charging points.
Jack Biggerstaff, Regional Managing Director, comments: “We are thrilled to have started work on what is a real jewel in the crown of our Central region. Headley Court offers an extraordinary location and our sensitive and considered approach to the development means we are well-placed to deliver a high-quality scheme which reflects its historical significance and is in keeping with the local area.”
Headley is a small village steeped in character and is conveniently located for access to Leatherhead and London. The village offers an excellent range of amenities including a church, shop, village hall and pub.
The first homes at Headley Court are expected to be released for sale in Autumn 2025. The site will build on Elivia Homes’ existing presence in Surrey, including developments in Haslemere and Send. For further information visit www.eliviahomes.co.uk.
