Elivia Homes invests in industry qualifications for employees’ futures

| 6 Sep 2024

Elivia Homes Southern is proud to share its ongoing commitment to investing in its employees' education and professional development, encouraging a culture of growth, productivity, and loyalty within the company.

Three employees, Sam Pinkus, Cameron Crumpler and Lana Spence, have all achieved qualifications within their respective areas to help bolster their knowledge and to further enhance their roles. Elivia Homes funded the three colleagues’ degrees and courses to support them with a chance to flourish and grow in their careers. This investment has resulted in remarkable achievements and career advancements, highlighting the company's dedication to nurturing talent from within.

Recognising true potential
Sam Pinkus, 27, has been with Elivia Homes for three years. Sam's journey in higher education began with a Town Planning Technical Support course. Once he had passed this qualification, the opportunity presented itself to further his education into town planning at degree level. Recognising his potential, Elivia Homes supported his ambition by continuing to fund his Post Graduate Diploma Chartered Town Planner qualification, which he completed with Merit in June.

"I was always reluctant to go into higher education without knowing what I wanted to do," Sam shared. "Elivia Homes' support has been second to none. They've provided me with time and resources, and their collaborative approach has been incredibly accommodating."

This qualification not only sets Sam apart from other land buyers, but also enhances his professional credibility. "It allows me to contribute to the wider development management process and not just land. Whether that be involved in the day-to-day project management of planning applications or reviewing future potential sites" he explained. " Studying for six years alongside both private and public sector professionals has provided me with valuable insights into the public sector while also allowing me to build strong relationships along the way."

Building foundations for success
Cameron Crumpler, 23, also from Southampton, recently graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Construction Management from Solent University that was funded by Elivia Homes, coinciding with his celebration of five years with the company. Additionally, he achieved an HNC in Quantity Surveying, marking another significant milestone in his career.

"This qualification has backed up my responsibilities, allowing me to manage projects independently," Cameron stated. "Elivia Homes has provided unwavering support, enabling me to finish my course and even buy my first home, debt-free."

Cameron is now focused on achieving chartership, further enhancing his professional qualifications and contributing to Elivia’s future success.

From aspiration to achievement
Lana Spence, 24, from Horndean, has had an inspiring educational journey, transitioning from Travel & Tourism to Finance. Starting her AAT studies independently while working at in retail, Lana joined Elivia Homes and completed her Level 4 AAT Accountancy qualification with the company's backing.

"This qualification opens up new opportunities within the company, allowing me to apply my knowledge in a real working environment," Lana said. "Without the guidance and support of my managers at Elivia Homes, I wouldn't be in this position."

Lana aims to climb the ranks in the Finance department, with her sights set on becoming a Finance Director.

A commitment to growth
Elivia Homes’ investment in its employees' education and professional development aligns with the company's commitment to promote a growth-oriented workplace.

Kevin Wawman, Managing Director of Elivia Homes Southern, is proud of all three achievements from his Southern team: “They have all put in the work to achieve their qualifications. It’s a real honour to be championing their careers and supporting them on their respective professional journeys at Elivia Homes. I know I speak for the rest of the team when I say that I’m excited to see what they achieve next.”

By empowering employees like Sam, Cameron, and Lana, Elivia Homes not only enhances individual careers but also strengthens the company's overall productivity and loyalty.
