Proud members of the Home Builders Federation – cementing our commitment to Elevated Living by Design
Delivering homes which allow our customers and communities to thrive is at the heart of everything we do. As members of the Home Builders Federation (HBF), we are best placed to do this - particularly as we continue towards the ambitious target of delivering 1,000 new homes annually.
Engaging with the HBF and its members helps us remain ahead of the curve in the ever-evolving landscape of homebuilding, and vitally, connected to what customers and wider communities demand from new homes and developments.
Through active participation in forums with leading experts and our homebuilding peers, we can collaborate with the industry on shared objectives, such as harnessing cutting-edge design and construction technology to improve energy efficiency, including building to the Future Homes Standard; modern homes fit for the environmental and social challenges of our age. With support from a forward-thinking partner in Octopus Investments, we are well positioned to implement transformative change in this area of sustainability. For example, by choosing to construct over 70 per cent of our homes currently in production using sustainable timber frames and implementing low-carbon technologies, we are increasing demand, knowledge and experience amongst our supply chain partners. This in turn encourages further adoption by other homebuilders to help the whole industry and wider economy reach our shared sustainability goals. The HBF’s Home Building Skills Partnership ensures the industry, including its supply chain, sub-contractors and colleges are working more closely on training to raise the overall competency levels of talent across the sector. This means we will have the skilled workforce to meet the demands of tomorrow. We are looking forward to collaborating further in this area.
Within the HBF, we contribute to advocacy, as well as technical and planning consultations, aimed at unlocking more open market and affordable homes in areas that are chronically constrained in supply. This includes our input to the joint letter delivered to the Prime Minster urging action to help foster growth of SME homebuilders, a vital section of the industry which has been decimated in recent years, but still play a key part in delivering these much needed high quality homes.
We look forward to continuing to work closely with our peers within the HBF to further improve the quality of new homes for homeowners and communities across the country. To find out more about the important work the HBF and its members do, please visit HBF here.
